The health of animals as professional goal.
The veterinarian develops actions aimed at animal health and production, public health, food production and environmental protection. His performance is directed at veterinary hospitals and clinics, universities and research institutions, development agencies or government administration, companies and horse jockeys, zoos, laboratories and factories of veterinary products, refrigerators, inspection services of animal products, companies agricultural and rural cooperatives.
Aiming for the generalist, humanist, critical and reflective, the course provides learning and Surgery Clinic of Small Animals and Large, Pathological Diagnosis, Environmental Preservation, Inspection and Technology of Animal Products, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Public Health and Animal , Animal Science and Production, Wild Animals, Reproduction and Biotechnology.
In Veterinary Complex, an important center of learning is accomplished medical and surgical care to animals large and small. The space is structured with three Surgical Centers equipped with ventilation equipment and anesthesia monitoring and assemblies for transanestésica, multiparameter monitors with modules for measuring invasive blood pressure, capnography, Doppler vascular ultrasound, gas analyzer and defibrillator; outpatient clinical care and surgical management of small animals; Clinical laboratory services; Clinical Oncology and Surgery of Small Animals; Echocardiography and Electrocardiography, Ambulatory Treatment of Pain; blood bank for dogs. Students also use laboratories of Anatomy, Histology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Parasitology, Microbiology and Immunology, Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Animal Reproduction.
The course also offers programs for technical and scientific cooperation with various institutions, for example, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife Ecology Park Tietê (SP), in addition to encouraging student participation in research projects developed under research group Structural and Functional Veterinary Pathology, consisting of teacher-researchers of the institution and registered with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
