Veterinary medicine is an area of great prominence, with the professional in demand. This is easily explained by the fact that Brazil is the producer and the world's food, being a major exporter, but with a potential to be the world's largest exporter. The export demands quality products and especially free of the problem of FMD, brucellosis, tuberculosis, mad cow disease, screening, production of organic foods, etc..
The veterinarian works on breeding, reproduction, selection, breeding, feed and animal health controls. Besides being responsible to oversee the development, preservation and quality of animal products, operates in the control of communicable diseases from animals to humans. The environmental protection and animal welfare are directly linked to the veterinarian. There are still spaces in medical and surgical clinics, interpreting clinical signs and laboratory tests, making diagnosis, indication for prophylaxis and treatment of individuals or flocks.
In public health and epidemiological control operates in zoonozes. The medicinal plants, animal feed and minerals, integrations, cooperatives, public health, inspection, etc ..., must require veterinarians.
