
The Course of Veterinary Medicine as qualified professionals to care for the health of domestic and wild animals as well as act in the areas of environmental sanitation, preventive veterinary medicine, public health, hygiene and inspection of animal products, animal husbandry, animal production and reproduction, ecology and environment protection.
The course of Veterinary Medicine FMU is recognized by the MEC (Order No 767 of 23.03.2006 - Gazette No 58 - Section I - 24/03/2006).
Combining theory with practice, the course provides the Hospital for Veterinary Medicine, with laboratories and rooms for treatment of small and large animals, service centers and emergency department of surgical technique and obstetrics care for wild animals, among other specialties.
The course is also available from the Teaching and Research Farm of Good Hope in Cabreúva, 80 km from the capital. On this farm, animals are used for practical classes in various disciplines and developed practical activities related to the theory, such as general management, racial aspects, rational food production, disease prevention, clinic, surgery, artificial insemination, pregnancy, obstetrics , gynecology, andrology, parasitology, pathology and anatomy.
