The veterinarian can act as stand-alone or linked to companies operating in the areas of clinical, surgical, animal husbandry, diagnostic methods complement and environmental preservation. The veterinarian may act in several areas: strategic planning for prevention, control and eradication of diseases, nutrition, husbandry, management, reproduction, breeding, veterinary clinic in all modalities, surgical clinic for small and large animals, semen and technology artificial insemination; preventive veterinary medicine, technology and inspection of products of animal origin; field research in veterinary medicine and public health, zoonosis control, agricultural extension, research, academic teaching, control and environmental preservation of wildlife, parks, zoos; governmental and private institutions for the protection of domestic animals and exotic fauna and the adequacy of waste from agricultural activities, so as not to harm the environment.
The course is recognized by the Ministerial Decree n0 564, 07/04/1993.
Anatomy of Domestic Animals, Histology, Cytology and Embryology, Environmental Sciences, Physiology and Microbiology, Pharmacology and Immunology, Pathology, Epidemiology and Applied Sanitation; Semiology and Surgical Technique; Anesthesiology and Diagnostic Imaging; Zootechnic Ruminants Ruminants and not diseases; Contagious Infectious and Parasitic Diseases of Domestic Animals, Animal Nutrition, Food and Forage Analysis; Medicine and Surgery of Small and Large Animals, and Clinical Management of Wild Animals, Zoonoses and Public Health, Economics and Rural Administration, Rural Extension; Technology Products Animal Origin, Pathophysiology and Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction, Obstetrics, Hygiene and Inspection Origin Products, Biostatistics and Computing, Ethics and Professional Ethics. Moreover, using the existing infrastructure, services are provided to the community, with the completion of the program's annual rabies vaccination, laboratory tests and outpatient care.
The course has partnerships with private companies to perform research activities that benefit animal welfare. Also various activities are undertaken by faculty to provide better understanding and comprehension in the acquisition of knowledge by the student body.
· Program Annual rabies vaccines: a joint action with the Municipality, local and other municipalities under the guidance and supervision for teachers and veterinarians.
· Examination Laboratory: Provision of laboratory services specializing in the diagnosis of zoonoses and other diseases.
Hospital · Answer: Because clinical cases, surgical and outpatient services, constitutes a major referral center for disease prevention programs and treatment for the region.
ER Veterinarian: Attend medical and surgical cases, for students enrolled in 7th to 9th semesters, living the routine of professional practice.
The course has six laboratories for practical classes and Internet access, available in the morning, afternoon and night.

The course of Veterinary Medicine UNIPINHAL offers students a complete infrastructure, with specific laboratories equipped with cutting-edge material, a veterinary hospital with 3,600 m2 of construction, with the operating room for small, medium and large animals; room recovery; central laboratory diagnosis; center diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, X-rays, endoscopy) for ambulatory care clinician, classrooms theoretical integrated to all hospital training center in surgical techniques, and breeding nucleus artificial insemination. Complete the structure a kennel, cattery pens, brete, balance, trunk restraint, laboratory infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, processing histopathological autopsy of large and small animals and animal facilities.
The course of Veterinary Medicine has two campuses for animal production systems and provide all necessary support for conducting practical classes, internships and research projects.
There are two campuses that support for the practice areas, internships and research projects:
A) I or Campus Site Morro Azul, located near the Central Campus (Rodovia SP 346, km 204): has a total area of 65.3 hectares and 55.6 hectares of cultivated area, which are used for cattle (cutting and milk), goat and sheep industry. All farming systems promote greater monitoring by students of different production systems involving these species. On this campus, and classes and plans for improvement, are also developed research projects and extension to meet the social commitment of the course.
B) Campus II, integrated with the Veterinary Hospital and Central Campus: Responsible for providing systems of poultry production (cutting and posture), horses, pigs, rabbits, fish and honey. On this site are also developed practical lessons, activities, research and extension and improvement.
All sectors have helped teachers responsible for technical and administrative staff trained.
