The course of Veterinary Medicine Unoeste aims to train students able to develop actions and results focused on crop science in relation to animal production, food production, animal health, environmental protection, animal health, public health and biotechnology.
Recently the application of Veterinary Medicine has expanded because of the availability of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic for most animal species, as well as scientific advances in other areas such as genetics, biotechnology, physiology, providing improvements in animal production systems.
Veterinarian trained generalist, humanist, critical and reflective, able to understand and translate the needs of individuals, social groups and communities, with respect to activities in the profession, within their specific fields of expertise in animal health and veterinary clinic ; environmental sanitation and preventive veterinary medicine, public health and inspection technology and products of animal origin, animal husbandry, production and animal breeding and economics of farming and agribusiness management. Capacity of logical reasoning, observation, interpretation and analysis of data and information, and knowledge essential for Veterinary Medicine, for identifying and solving problems.
The main activities include animal breeding, clinics and surgeries of pets and breeding, inspection of animal products, management of rural activities, activities in research institutions, teaching and extension.
The practice areas include animal health, veterinary medicine, preventive and animal production.
