The representative role of the veterinarian come along in decades, occupying a prominent position in the social and economic environment, especially in light of occupational trends in relation to education, control of infectious diseases, working and collaborating with institutions public health, at the federal, state and municipal and contribute effectively in preventing and fighting and fighting zoonoses, enhancing and increasing the participation of professionals in the protection of human health.
There is an awareness at all levels about the importance of animal health, because the methods of animal exploitation will ensure protein for a population that grows wildly. Sanitation and the best methods of animal production require the professional veterinarian working in research institutions, private institutions and individuals who objectively seek the highest quality. How competence of veterinarians, we can relate: Clinical Practice in all its forms; Managers of hospitals for animals, technical assistance and animal health, planning and implementation of animal health protection; Technical direction of industrial, commercial, recreational, sporting or protection, which are related to animals; Supervision and inspection of hygienic and technological products of animal origin, Expertise and technical examinations in judicial matters; The direction and control of artificial insemination services; Regency specifically medical and veterinary disciplines, as well as direction of the respective sections and laboratories; Direction and supervision of the teaching of Veterinary Medicine; direction, supervision and monitoring all research projects involving animals, protection of wildlife, especially the control of the exploitation of wild species as well as their products. Considering the importance of the veterinarian in the socio-economic and political development of the country, as a professional and citizen committed to the interests and standing and renewed challenges emanating from the society, the Course of Veterinary Medicine, University of Marília recognizes mandatory training of a professional through relevant basic training.
The student must develop critical view, should be able to reassess their performance potential and fit, such as competence, the demands generated by scientific and technological progress and the requirements in term permanent change and evolution.
