The Veterinary Medicine course aims to develop skills and competencies necessary to practice the profession in all its fields. The pedagogical project allows the students contact with practical activities since the first half, with the aim of forming Veterinarians generalists, able to work the various segments of the profession.
With a very broad field of work, the professional practice involves health care and welfare of animals, responsibility for health and productivity of livestock, public health programs, technology and quality of food of animal origin, areas of scientific development and biotechnology, management and environment. As possibility of action include: Veterinary Clinics and Hospitals, Laboratories, equestrian, zoos, farms, food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agribusiness companies, and several classes of governmental agencies and conservationists.
With 20 years of tradition and recognition, Course of Veterinary Medicine UNIFEOB - São João da Boa Vista-SP has trained over 1000 professionals and has recorded a 90% employability of its graduates within 3 to 4 months of graduation. The course has a modern educational project that is developed in full-time, lasting five years, making use of all necessary infrastructure in order to have a university environment healthy and productive.
The Veterinary Hospital (HOVET) recognized as a regional referral center, has a large and well equipped structure, designed for learning and exercise efficient animal medicine, including alternatives such as homeopathy and acupumtura. We have also developed programs and Neuter Assistance Clinical facing the community, beyond the improvement course, recognized as Veterinary Medical Residency by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine - CFMV. Veterinarians with up to two years of graduation, receive scholarships to improve their skills. Less than 2 km from HOVET, is the Farm School, which provides 150 hectares devoted to projects and activities involving large animals and livestock such as sheep, cattle, equine breeding and design of Hippotherapy, besides hosting the scientific breeders for studies of wild animals, duly authorized by IBAMA.
Through complementary activities important as the meeting of Academic Scientific, students are encouraged to participate in programs of Scientific Initiation and several research projects are developed, some with funding FAPESP and CNPq, as well as projects in partnership with leading universities such as USP and UNESP, contributing to high approval rate of our students in leading graduate programs in the country
