The College of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1919, as the Veterinary Institute, which was part of the Department of Agriculture.
In November 1997, the undergraduate course in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was evaluated by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the "National Examination of Courses. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of USP received this evaluation level "A" is therefore one of the five (5) carrying this concept in the country.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sao Paulo aims to:
- Train and improve professionals in various branches of veterinary medicine through undergraduate and graduate.
- Conduct scientific and technological research of interest to the country's development in the area of knowledge of veterinary medicine.
- Provide the scientific collaboration of public bodies, private companies and scientific centers of the country and abroad.
