Among its general characteristics, the Course of Veterinary Medicine University of the Campaign's goal is the formation of a competent professional with an overview and critique of the man in your relationship with the environment and society, dedicated to the branch of science Agrarian who studied animals, provide their assistance in lifting the living standards of the community whose knowledge and skills to enable it to exercise the following main activities:
- Promote and implement measures to foster the production of animals, instructing or adopting processes and systems, genetic and food that are most given to the improvement of various species and breeds, including the conditioning of their better adaptation to the environment, aiming to objectives of its creation and the destiny of their products;
- Study, coordination and implementation techniques of interest to animal breeding, including artificial insemination services;
- Inspection and surveillance point of view of health and hygiene of products of animal origin;
- Study and implementation of public health measures with regard to animal diseases transmissible to humans (zoonoses);
- To carry out technical supervision of the exhibitions of animals and of experimental stations for its establishment;
- Surgical Clinic of Obstetrics and domestic animals;
- Disease prevention and control of infectious diseases and parasitic diseases of domestic animals;
- Participate in surveys that the cattle have to be submitted for the purpose of their inclusion in society of genealogical record;
- Teaching and research in both the professional sector of the Veterinarian, the sector of basic sciences related.
