
The aim of this course is to train general practitioners, within a holistic view, with the skills and competencies necessary for activities of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, animal production, technology, products of animal origin and public health. The course provides solid training professionals ethically committed to the production and dissemination of knowledge, commit to community needs, as well as analysis and construction of nature and social role of the veterinarian.
Field of Expertise
The veterinarian works in different areas: In the area of livestock production, highlighting the various animal species, integrating the management, feeding, reproduction, breeding and marketing development, economic and technological products and animal by-products. In the area of Pathology and Medicine, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of health problems that affect animals and their effects on animal production and human health. In the area of public health, working with health surveillance and food and environmental health surveillance, including the control of zoonoses. Integrative areas through diffusion of technology on topics related to production and human and animal health technology and products of animal origin, as well as through training with other activities offered to the rural population aiming at technological growth and improving living conditions.
Rural Center University Experimental Farm
Students of Veterinary Medicine have a differential on the practical question, because, besides dealing with urban animals, they can also practice at the Veterinary Hospital of Farm-to-foot mountain with animals in rural areas. Most interns are students of the fourth and fifth years, but students of any period of veterinary can track the activities as volunteers. Trainees selected remain on the farm nine hours a day, from 8 to 12 and from 13 to 18h, at ranges of shifts every 8 days. Receive guidance and monitoring of teachers in areas of farm animals and a veterinarian hired by the farm. Students, as well as to benefit from learning on the farm, also receiving a 30% discount on tuition.

Small Animal Veterinary Clinic
Serve the community while preparing students. These are the main objectives of the veterinary clinic for Small Animals, Travel Veterinary Medicine Tuiuti. The clinic performs an average of 70 procedures per month, with most patients dogs and cats. The Small Animal Veterinary Clinic participates in campaigns Birth Control (castration), held in partnership with the City of Curitiba. In addition to small animals, the course also has a clinic for Large Animals, which primarily serves the horses used by collectors of paper.
