On the map of Minas Gerais, the Catholic University is present in key regions of the state, through a structure multicampi consists of over one hundred buildings that house laboratories, libraries, museums, TV channel, theater workshop, distance learning , multimedia classrooms, theaters, auditoriums, hospitals, veterinary clinics, physiotherapy, dentistry and psychology, and other devices equipped with modern technological resources and teaching.
The academic community PUC Minas Gerais has 56,751 students (47,281 undergraduate, specialization 8182, 1097 in master's and doctorate at 191), 2312 teachers and 1,682 employees, spread across campuses in Belo Horizonte, Pocos de Caldas (South), Arcos (Center West), Riyadh (Alto Jequitinhonha) and Guanhães, in addition to units in BH and the metropolitan area of capital: Contagem, Betim, San Gabriel, Barreiro and Freedom Square). The university offers 56 undergraduate and 17 master's and six doctoral, and 287 specialized courses (between the improvement and extension of the Prep, IEC and learning).
The course of Veterinary Medicine campus PUC Minas Pocos de Caldas aims to train veterinarians capable of acting, so general, the promotion of animal health and human act in the control of zoonoses and also improving the quantity and quality animal products either by increasing production, and the sanitary control of livestock and alimentos.
The veterinarian works in various sectors of animal production, directly in the field, through strategic planning in the prevention, control and eradication of diseases in animal nutrition in the management, reproduction and breeding, and indirectly linked to the industries of medicines, vaccines, laboratories, feed mills and research institutes.
