Visa for training and professional training of veterinarians to the broader exercise of their professional duties, providing theoretical knowledge and skills in the clinic and surgery of animals in all its forms, the inspection and supervision under the hygienic point of view, technology and health products of animal origin, education, planning, direction, coordination and technical implementation of artificial insemination, biotechnology and pathophysiology of reproduction, in implementing public health measures related to zoonoses; exams husbandry, laboratory and research related to general biology, zoology and management; in research, planning, technical direction, encouragement, guidance, implementation and control of any work on the production; in regent chairs or medical and veterinary disciplines, as well as the direction of the respective sections and laboratories, the technical supervision and health of the industrial, commercial or recreational purpose, related to animals or their products and by-products in the conduct of surveys, preparation and interpretation of technical reports in all fields of knowledge of veterinary medicine, the technical advice to various government agencies federal public (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, among others) in the country and abroad, with regard to matters pertaining to production and the animal industry.
During the course, students receive a general education, developing skills and critical thinking for professional practice and the management of their continuing education. It is also given focus to the areas of humanities and social sciences, which provide communication skills, management, information and understanding of social and cultural determinants involved in the profession.
The curriculum of the course of Veterinary Medicine consists of required courses consisting of lectures and practices carried out in several laboratories, such as chemistry, microbiology, clinical surgery and also in experimental farms and commercial refrigerators, etc..
There are also relaxed activities, through which the student directs training for your area of interest. These activities consist of elective courses, supervised training, monitoring, scientific initiation, initiation to extension courses, lectures, conferences, important in expanding the knowledge base of individuals in different fields of human relationship.
