Prof. Dr Faruk Èaklovica, Rector received Zijad Muharemoviæ mr.sci, senior assistant at the Department of Biophysics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo in the premises of the University of Sarajevo’s Administration Building on Friday, July 09, 2010.
On that occasion, Rector Èaklovica thanked to reputable colleague Muharemoviæ for supporting the Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the University of Sarajevo. During the ceremony of celebration, an exhibition of photos entitled: ”The Flash of Beauty in Science - Polyaniline” by Zijad Muharemoviæ mr.sci was organized in the Administration Building, visited by teachers, students and associates of the University of Sarajevo, as well as from partner universities from Europe and the world. Rector Èaklovica, gave to mr.sci Muharemoviæ a set of publications, issued by the University on the occasion of 60th Anniversary, and wished to this young scientist soon finishing of his doctoral thesis and many similar and interesting exhibitions and scientific projects.
Zijad Muharemoviæ mr.sci used the opportunity to present two of his artistic photographs to the University of Sarajevo’s Administration Building, and stated that he had pleasure and honor to be a part of celebrating this historic anniversary. “There is an art in science, art is everywhere, but we must recognize it.” said mr. Muharemoviæ.
The exhibition was dedicated to a new and exceptional type of polymer by the name of Polyaniline that belongs to the group of conducting polymers – a new electricity conducting generation of plastic materials.
20 artistic photographs on synthesis and measuring of electrical conductivity of the Polyaniline, amplified by sulfate acid, were presented on this extraordinary exhibition, dedicated to popularization of science.
During the course of the day, participants in the workshop “Active Learning in Physics and Chemistry” which is organized by the WUS Austria will visit the exhibition. Zijad Muharemoviæ mr.sci. will use the occasion to deliver a lecture entitled: “Photography as a Teacher Aid – Example: Conducting Polymer Polyaniline” to the workshop participants.
