SAC is an innovative, knowledge-based organisation, supporting the development of land-based industries and communities through our:

The work is wide ranging but there is a particular emphasis on agriculture and related sciences, rural business development and management, food chain quality and safety, and rural resource and environmental management. Through its associate company, SAC Commercial Ltd, SAC can provide a wide range of services to individuals, small and medium size enterprises, corporate clients, local and regional authorities, and government agencies and departments.
Facilities
When studying at SAC, it is important not to overlook the benefits of our strong community atmosphere: you have the freedom to be yourself, but with the reassurance of close staff-student links and a friendly supportive environment. Farms
SAC has farms distributed around Scotland with a comprehensive range of farming activities represented including organic, livestock, arable and dairy. SAC also has grassland research in Dumfries and Hill and Mountain research activities at Kirkton-Auchtertyre Farm near Crianlarich.
Advisory
SAC provides a range of consultancy services to more than 12,000 clients in Scotland, the UK and worldwide. Further information of services can be found on our consultancy pages. The implications for you as a student at SAC, is that SAC staff can provide up-to-the-minute information and insight into the commercial world beyond the College environment, through knowledge transfer within our organisation. We believe that no other institution can offer this combination of expertise and experience.
Laboratories
Science courses at SAC are supported by modern, well-equipped teaching laboratories. In addition, SAC's strong research base means that you have access to specialised laboratories and equipment and the benefits of studying in a research environment.
