The Department of Veterinary Science, University of Blida, was one of six training facilities in Veterinary Medicine at the national level (in Tiaret, Algeria, Batna, Constantine and Tarf)
Under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Department of Veterinary Science, University of Blida trains doctors in veterinary medicine (DVM) and specialists engaged in sectors as diverse as livestock production, hygiene and inspection of animal products and animal and in the pharmaceutical industry or applied research.
The graduate training is structured in two cycles:
- The pre-clinical cycle lasts three years, and during which the student first addresses the basic sciences (Biochemistry, Histology, Cytology, Biostatistics ...), then he becomes familiar with the world of livestock and livestock (Animal Husbandry, Anatomy, Physiology, Semiology, microbiology ...).
- The clinical cycle, lasting two years, includes the main elements of the pathology of animal species and Annuity Company (Surgery, Toxicology, Pharmacology, Parasitology, Hygiene and Inspection of animal products and animal ...) .
At the end of course, a Project Study End (PFE) completes the training. This brief literature and practice is argued before a panel of University faculty.
The holder of the Diploma of Doctor of Veterinary Science may exercise either in the private sector (in a closet or make delegation in pharmaceutical companies), or work in the various structures of the civil service (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health ...) or pursue a post-graduate training after passing the contest Magister.
